About me
I'm Angelo, a visual artist, animation specialist, and creative lead. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree and immediately entered the post-production industry. After working on commercials and broadcast projects, I decided to focus on lighting and compositing for animation. Since 2017, I've translated my love for design, cinema, and photography into animated movies, using these principles to help directors with creative exploration and art direct every last pixel to their heart's desire. Animation is one of the most collaborative spaces, and I absolutely thrive in that environment. As a senior artist and team leader, I love to mentor and help younger artists develop their skills. With lighting, my approach is to advance the narrative first by playing with the contrast between light and dark. I use color and temperature to help establish tone and mood. My favorite skill and what I consider my strongest is pulling all this together in compositing. It's the final step in animation where we get to craft our movie before sending it into the world. This crucial stage is where the speed of compositing software can not only create what we envision but take it a step further.
